![]() |
The SCIENCE OF SCARES REVEALED. Thrill Laboratory present SELF EXAMINATION... an EXPERIMENT IN FEAR. Across four separate screenings at the Mayhem Horror Film Festival, Thrill Laboratory will be examining and monitoring the effects of horror films on members of the audience. Thrill-seeking volunteers are urgently required for an interactive experiment that will test the human response to horror. During the festival, and under close medical supervision, human guinea pigs will be wired up to a specially designed wheelchair that measures physiological signals, such as heart rate, sweat response and facial expressions which will be monitored and the results projected 'live' outside the auditorium. To take part in this unique event - exclusive to Mayhem - download a Thrill Laboratory application form here, and become a volunteer. The chosen patients will gain free entry to the selected screenings and test just how frightening this year’s festival is.

| COLIN DIRECTOR TO ATTEND MAYHEM HORROR FESTIVAL | |

Colin stormed Cannes and became even bigger news than Lars Von Trier’s ANTCHRIST. That someone had managed to create waves with a zombie film at Cannes was one thing – but the fact that the whole feature film cost just £45.00 to make made it a festival phenomenon.
We are delighted not just to be showcasing COLIN up on the big screen where it belongs (the film is due for a multi-platform release at the end of October) but to be inviting the films creator – Marc Price – along to introduce the film and talk about making it. Book in advance as tickets are sure to sell out! Colin is a true original – telling its story from the perspective of the zombie (Colin, of course) himself. Price says “Rather than going for screams, we wanted to try to move the audience…” See the trailer here: http://www.nowherefast.tv/

| NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: REANIMATED | |
![]() |
Mayhem Horror Film Festival likes to push itself to the boundaries of the genre – knocking down taste barriers or hurdling over definitions… but we are equally delighted to present something that explores the aesthetics of the genre… so we are delighted to be able to screen Night of the Living Dead: ReAnimated - A mass collaborative artistic re-envisioning of the George A Romero 1968 classic!
International artists and animators were invited to reinvent scenes from the zombie masterpiece using any means at their disposal – from oil painting, puppetry, flash animation and cgi… the finished works are then organised and curated across the films soundtrack timeline creating a startlingly original reinterpretation of the original. The completed work will be shown around Broadway with a special free screening taking place in the Studio. For more information on this amazing piece of horror art work, which recently stormed ComiCon – look no further: |
